17th March 2007 TREASURERS APPEAL - END OF SEASON DRAW

The planning application has been submitted, hopefully with approval in 3/4 months time. This is just the beginning! We need to continue to raise money; we shall need to look at major fundraising initiatives. Let us, however, get one thing straight – businesses are NOT queuing up to throw money at TTFC. It is not easy. Just try getting a few raffle prizes or adverts for the match-day programme.
We ARE one of the best-supported clubs in the Hellenic League; we rely heavily on our loyal band of supporters who respond to most of our fundraising ventures and I am now asking for your support in the END OF SEASON DRAW. Last year we raised £2000. This year I am hoping that we can, together do even better. OUR club is not pleading poverty but with all three teams coming together we do have extra expense and our policy (prudent financing) is to budget for a surplus. Unfortunately, income from social events has dipped and we have had little match-day income. Newsletters with book(s) of draw tickets have been sent out to members, a number of who usually ask for more. I am hoping that they will do so this year.
I am trying to reach those supporters who do not receive newsletters. I shall be handing out envelopes containing one book (10 tickets at 50p each) at matches. The draw will take place at our Presentation Night on May 19th.Our main sponsors –Airsprung Beds are donating the 1st Prize - a bed to the value of £700. The second prize is show tickets for the Bristol Hippodrome. The third prize is a Century Fires (Warminster) gift voucher worth £235. In addition, we do have, so far, a dozen runner up prizes. These will be listed in our next programme.
More tickets are available from me, Roy While, either at the table, or by ‘phone 01225 704063.
I look forward to hearing from you.

10th December 2006 - The Christmas Quiz. – Treasurer’s Appeal

This appeal appeared in a recent match day programme and would have been incorporated in our next newsletter. However, we shall not be sending this out until the New Year as by then we expect to have news that is more positive about the new ground. The Christmas Quiz sheet is now an institution and many of you look forward to taking part. I would welcome supporters (born salesmen) who could flog copies to relatives/friends/work colleagues and I have already approached some of you. Gloria Hambly rang me a short time ago asking for another dozen as did Dave Percival’s dad which was music to my ears. However as I have stressed many times, every pound counts for OUR club and I shall be grateful for any contribution that you can make. I am available on match days to receive cash/sheets and I will be delighted to provide some sheets for you to sell. Just ring me on 01225/704063 and I will quickly get them to you.
We have had one or two changes in the fixtures. On Saturday 16th December we now play at HOME to Easington – kick off 2.00 p.m. On Saturday 23rd December, we travel to Shrivenham to play the League Cup fixture, which was postponed on 25th November. This is your opportunity to get away from the Christmas rush. Why not join us on the coach. We leave the Mash Tun at 12 noon and also pick up at the Fire Station. The fare is just £7. Phone Gloria on 01225 755097 to book your seat. On Boxing Day we are at HOME to Winterbourne kick off 2.00p.m. An attractive fixture – please come along and make it our biggest attendance to date. Bring your friends!! Then on New Years Day we travel to Pewsey Vale. There will not be a coach for this game. Kick off is at 3.00 p.m. On 6th January, we have a tough HOME fixture against Tytherington Rocks.
Hope to see many of you at these matches….Look out for the next Peregrinator Quiz Night at the Wesley Road Club in January. Date to be announced.
Thanks, Roy While.
