Neil,
Congratulations to you everyone connected with the club on your
fantastic Senior Cup win.
From supporters, players and officials of Witney United.
4th April 2004 - Wroughton withdraw from league?
I have heard today that Wroughton have withdrawn from the Wiltshire
League without completing the season.
As soon as this is confirmed, I will update the league table
accordingly.
Points wise this will not affect us but it will help Stratton on goal
difference when compared to us.
Let's hope it doesn't matter!

14th September 2003 - Where do we go from here?
TTFC Treasurer Roy While has written the following letter to Douglas
Ross, Town Clerk & Treasurer.
Where do we go from here?
The
new Trowbridge Town Football Club, now in our fifth season, have made a
superb start. We are TOP of the Wiltshire League, still unbeaten. Our
Reserves are top of the Wiltshire Junior League Div.One. We are
confident of winning the Championship. Most of our players are
Trowbridge based and have graduated from the successful Trowbridge Town
Youth Football Club. Our management teams are also drawn from
Trowbridge. They are all a credit to the town. We regularly attract 200
supporters to home games at Woodmarsh. These facilities are leased by
the Youth Football Club from the Town Council. We have invested some
monies into development along with the Youth Football Club and the Town
Council. Unfortunately these facilities would not meet the requirements
for entry into the Screwfix Western League, and this would prevent our
promotion chances.
We are a members club with 260 paying their annual subscription of five
pounds and receiving regular newsletters. Their support has helped the
club to invest £26,000. Three years ago a number of us got together to
consider the options for permanent facilities. We are grateful for the
Town Council's support and Councilors Jeff Osborn and Peter Fuller
represent the Council on our Management Committee. We have worked
together with the Town Council and the Youth Football Club in a search
for facilities. Lambrok was considered as well as Yarnbrook, also a site
adjacent to Woodmarsh. Unfortunately negotiations for the latter have
recently fallen through. As we all know land is not readily available in
or around Trowbridge. In Chippenham the Town Council have been fortunate
enough to acquire land and grants for development of substantial
sporting facilities. We know that the Town Council would like to see
similar facilities for the communities of Trowbridge.
It is 'crunch time' - where do we go? Some people have mentioned
Southwick Country Park, others Hilperton. Perhaps we should appeal to
local landowners who may be willing to release land for the community. I
should be grateful if you would arrange for this letter to be circulated
to your Councillors, together with a copy of the Club's recent
newsletter (attached). I am sending a copy of this letter to the
Wiltshire Times in the hope that they can lend their support to such an
appeal. The Town Council, The Youth Football Club and ourselves have
expended much effort on this matter. It is vital for Trowbridge that we
get a positive result in the foreseeable future.
Letter dated 11th September 2003 and reproduced with permission.
7th August 2003 – Pre-season round-up
The first team completed their pre-season friendlies last night, losing
1-0 at Larkhall Athletic. Despite the result, this was a good
performance by Trowbridge, who but for some very good second half saves
by the Larkhall goalkeeper would have drawn or even won the match.
Waleed Bakali & Adam Nunn were both back for Trowbridge and Manager Neil
Kirkpatrick also took the opportunity to introduce some younger players
from our impressive reserves. Gavin Eyre was unable to take part
following a cruel 90th minute tackle at Calne which will keep him out
for at least the first two league games of the season. The game at Calne
finished 1-1, Dave Mitchell on the score-sheet. Having played three
Western League clubs in pre-season friendlies, the first being a 2-1 win
at Corsham, Trowbridge will approach the new season with confidence. The
reserves have also started well, winning their first friendly 5-1 at
Steeple Ashton.

2nd March 2003 - New local Radio Station covers Trowbridge Town
New local Radio Station "Moonraker FM" launched yesterday on a 28 day
trial licence. The new station, available on 106.8 FM will primarily
cover Trowbridge & Bradford on Avon. Live reports from sports events
will be featured and I have been asked to provide the live updates for
Trowbridge Town. I made my Radio debut during the morning show with a
match preview and again after 1pm. Ian Pugh (Moonraker FM Chief
Executive) hosts the sports show on Saturday afternoon and he telephoned
me for live reports during the match, at half time and for a post match
analysis. Having never done anything like this before, I must admit that
I found it quite exciting. I believe it went quite well apart from the
beginning of the post match report when I thought that the connection
had dropped. Listeners probably heard me saying "hello, can you hear
me?. Not exactly professional of me I know but I should learn from this
first experience.
Give the station your support by listening in and hopefully I can play
my part for TTFC.
