9th August 2008 Fairford Town Res 3 Trowbridge Town FC Res 4 by Paul King
Great result from the Reserves
The reserves after waiting patiently for over 3 hours produced a wonderful performance to win 4-3 against Fairford Reserves. Lee Hayward opened the scoring when he ran through to execute a fine finish. Fairford equalised when Trowbridge didn’t clear their lines properly and were punished. Trowbridge retook the lead when Steven Hulbert headed home from close range. Chances were coming at both ends but it was Fairford who equalised when they were awarded a harsh penalty.
Half-Time 2-2
The 2nd half was end to end football and once again Fairford scored to make it 3-2. This is when Trowbridge sparked to life and produced a wonderful final 15 minutes with Steve Hulbert grabbing 2 more goals to complete his hat-trick and a great 4-3 victory for a very youthful Trowbridge.
Full Time 4-3
26th July 2008 Kintbury Rangers FC Res 2 Trowbridge Town FC Res 1 by Paul King
Another great game from the reserves showing the strength in depth within the club. Trowbridge moved the ball well and took the lead midway through the 1st half when Pete Spong burst through and laid a lovely pass to Jamie Jordan who scored from 7 yards. Trowbridge continued to push forward and should have added to their lead but missed numerous chances through Pete Spong, Jamie Jordan and Tom Berrington. They were then hit with the sucker punch when Kintbury broke quickly and there centre forward scored with a great header to equalise. Half Time 1-1
The 2nd half was a more even match but again missed chances cost dearly when Trowbridge gave away a soft penalty with 5 minutes left, The Kintbury striker smashed the ball home to seal a undeserved victory.
The reserves were impressive today with every player playing well. Tom Mackinder looked comfortable at left back, Matt Hall was excellent in the centre of defence also with Steve Fox again comfortable and Glen Murley was superb in the Trowbridge goal. Can't mention every player but to add everyone could certainly step up and do a job in the 1st team. Competition is certainly there which is key for the club to maintain throughout the season.
